Simply Printit

A printable is a downloadable file that you can print whenever you need to. Not only is it more convenient, it also saves time, money, and is environmentally friendly (no more wasted paper with a ton of planner pages you’ll never use). Printables include any printable document or image including calendars, wall art, planner pages and trackers, coloring pages, plus many more we’ll go over more in a minute. Plus, with the ability to customize products, this makes the possibilities with printables endless.

Can you sell them and actually make money?

Yes and yes. You can easily make a little extra each month making and selling printables in your spare time. Plus, there are plenty of people that make their full-time income making and selling printables, and it’s not as hard as you would think. The best parts about selling printables in my opinion is, you don’t need any inventory and only have to make each printable one time, and you can sell it an unlimited number of times. Basically, you can spend a few hours each day for a week or two (depending on design and contents) designing a printable planner and sell this same planner for years to come.

Are printables the same as print on demand?

Although they are both similar, they are two different ways you can use to express your creativity. Check out the comparison chart below.

You mention planners a lot. Are there other printables too?

I keep using planners as a reference because they are the perfect example of the variety available, but there’s so many more. Here, we’ll break the 5 most popular selling printables down.

Wall Art

Wall art is another type of printable that offers a variety of design options. They can be created for any room, either in your home or office, classroom, dorm room, even for outdoor spaces. They can include paintings, photographs, word art, and welcome signs. They are a great way to change your décor quickly and cheaply, without sacrificing quality and style.

Wall art is great for adding an extra touch to a nursery or a motivational quote to your office space. They can help display your sense of humor in your bathroom, style in your kitchen, and perfect for changing with the seasons and holidays.

Coloring Pages

Coloring Pages are popular with both kids and adults and are one of the bestselling printables. They can be sold bundled in sets of or as individual pages.

Worksheets are common printable, as they can be helpful for adults and children alike. They are also popular with the education & homeschool communities.

Cards and Invitations

Ok, lets be honest here. How many of you have forgotten a birthday or other important event until last minute and scrambled to find a card? I know it can’t be just me. As you can guess there is a big convenience when it comes to printable cards.

This convenience goes for printable invitations as well, especially when you’re not limited to what’s available at your local store and you can customize a lot of invitation design to suit your needs. Not big into customizing, there’s plenty of basic designs as well.

Planners and Trackers

You didn’t think I’d skip this one, did you? Like I said above the variety available for these printables is limitless. You can break down planners by the types of planners to the individual pages. You can start with printable calendars, checklists, or even a step tracker. Or you can bundle them together to make a daily planner, fitness & health planner, financial planner, or even a business planner. The options for these printables really are endless.

Important things to note

For those interested in making and selling printables (or anything really), when designing be sure to use your own work, or work that you are authorized to use. Copying someone else’s work isn’t cool, its stealing. I’m all about being inspired by others but be sure to make it your own. Using Disney or other popular characters on your designs is illegal and can get you in a lot of trouble. I’m not telling you this to be mean or scare you, I would just hate to see someone lose everything because of one bad decision that they may have not even known was wrong.
